5 Best Drinks For A BBQ

What is a barbecue without a good drink in your hand? Sure, a cold beer is a great companion but, where is the fun in that?

FROZEN MOJITO

Any party is better with a good Mojito. For a hot summer barbecue, we recommend this Frozen Mojito. It will cool everybody down, while sipping on a delicious drink!

Ingredients you’ll need for 2 servings:

¼ cup of Simple Syrup

2 Juiced Limes

12 Fresh Mint Leaves

Mint Sprig for Garnish

4 oz. White Rum

2 cups Crushed Ice

To prepare:

You’ll need a blender for this. It is best served freshly made, so you can have the blender for everyone to use.

Pour the simple syrup, lime juice and mint leaves into the blender and blend well. Add the crushed ice and rum until smooth.

Present in rocks glasses with a mint sprigs to garnish. Enjoy!


CUCUMBER PINEAPPLE TEQUILA COOLER

You might associate tequila with salt, lime and shots, but it has a lot more to give.

This is a fresh and original cocktail that will give you everything you’d expect for a great BBQ.

Ingredients you’ll need for 4 servings:

1 cup Fresh Pineapple Cubes

1 Limes, peeled

1 Seedless Cucumber, peeled

Cucumber Slices for Garnish

4 oz. Silver Tequila

1 ½ cups of Ice Cubes

1 tablespoon Agave Nectar

Pinch of Salt

To prepare:

The best option is to use a vegetable juicer, but a blender will do as well. Whichever you use, process the pineapple, limes and cucumber.

Combine the juices with the tequila, the agave nectar, ice and salt in a cocktail shaker . Shake away until chilled.

Pour into tall Tom Collins glasses with ice. Add a straw and a cucumber slice to finish it off. A delight!


GINGER LEMONGRASS PINA COLADA

Pina (or Piña) Colada is a very popular drink. This ginger lemongrass version is a tasty way to surprise your guests and change it up!

Ingredients you’ll need for 4 servings:

1 Stalk Lemongrass

¾ cup Peeled and Sliced Fresh Ginger

½ cup Sugar

Ice

2 cups Pineapple Juice, chilled

1 cup Coconut Milk

1 cup White Rum, chilled

Pinch of Salt

4 Fresh Mint Sprigs

To prepare:

To get the inside fibers of the lemongrass exposed, grab a heavy knife and with the back of it, put pressure on the lemongrass stalk. Cut the fibers into 1-inch long pieces.

In a small saucepan, simmer the lemongrass, ginger, sugar and ½ cup of water. Cook until the sugar has dissolves. Remove from heat and leave for 20 minutes.

We only need the syrup, so strain it into a large bowl with the ice and whisk away. Stop when it has cooled.

Now get the blender and blend the syrup, coconut milk, rum and pineapple juice.

Pour into a glass and garnish with a mint sprig.


WATERMELON MARTINI

Martinis are a great choice for most events. In a summer day under the hot sun, a BBQ needs a special kind of martini. This Watermelon Martini is the perfect combination of flavors for an amazing day outside.

Ingredients you’ll need for 8 servings:

½ cup of Sugar

½ cup of Water

5 cups Watermelon (no seeds)

2 tablespoons Lemon Juice

1 ¼ cups of Vodka

2 oz. Melon Liqueur

8 Lemon Twists

To prepare:

In a small saucepan, boil the water and sugar until it dissolves. Let is cool down.

We need to puree the watermelon (no skin) in a food processor. Add some of the syrup and freeze in empty ice cube trays for 4 hours.

Put the lemon juice, vodka, syrup, the frozen watermelon juice, melon liqueur and blend. Once it is smooth, pour into martini glasses and add a lemon twist.


FRESH PEACH BELLINI

If white wine is what you love, here is a drink for you. It is an easy to make delight.

Ingredients you’ll need for 6 to 8 servings:

2 Ripe Peaches, seeded and diced

1 tablespoon Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice

1 tablespoon of Sugar

1 Bottle of Chilled Prosecco Sparkling Wine

To prepare:

In a food processor with steel blades, process the peaches, lemon juice and sugar. Sieve the mixture.

In a Champagne glass, add 2 tablespoons of the peach and top it off with cold Prosecco. Serve right away.
