To freshen up your evening, nothing like a combination of mint and lemon with the distinctiveness  of the Bourbon with a sweet syrup.

You need:

2 oz. of Bourbon

0.75 oz. Simple Syrup

0.25 oz. Lemon Juice

3 Lemon Wedges

Pinch of Mint (10-12 leaves)

To prepare:

It’s important to have a good cocktail shaker. In it, jumble lemon wedges, mint and simple syrup.

Add the Bourbon, the lemon juice and ice and shake away. Put fresh ice in a rocks glass and strain the drink. To decorate, a mint sprig. Enjoy!

If you habe not tried Aperol yet, go buy a bottle right now. Aperol is a low alcohol relative if Campari. In this cocktail it is definitely the star.

You need:

3 oz. Prosecco

2 oz. Aperol

1 oz.  Soda Water

To prepare:

Put ice in a wine glass and build in order. This is, first the Prosecco, followed by the Aperol and last, soda water.

A lemon peel, an olive or an orange wedge are great garnishes for this drink. Switch it up and find what you like best.

It often happens that when people start making their own cocktails, they complicate drinks too much. They equate quality with quantity of ingredients.

Truth is, the best drinks are usually the simplest ones. Here is a great example of that.

2 oz. White Rum (Buy quality Rum. Flor de Cana 4yr and Banks 5 Island Rum, for example).

0.75 oz. Lime Juice

0.75 oz. Simple Syrup

To prepare:

Shake. Strain. Serve.
